Little Lion Cub

With a growing little one who is always looking for the next thing to spike her interest, we thought it would be a good idea to get a membership to the zoo. So Isla has spent a lot of time there so far and I'm sure many more posts this summer will be featuring zoo time. It's great because she can walk around, talk to other children, chase birds, ride trains or just go up and down stairs. The latter being her favorite.

We've also planted a summer garden. We have tomatoes, squash, eggplant, edamame, and peas. The cherry tomatoes are extremely fruitful, the other plants, not so much. Unfortunately, I did not plan for the huge limb span of some of the trees and the garden doesn't get as much sun as it needs, so it's growing at a slower pace. Anywho, Isla loves holding her little bucket while I pick the tomatoes. She helps pick too and so we often have several green tomatoes and leaves thrown into the bucket. Mini fried green tomatoes perhaps...

Daddy's Hat

One of Isla's new activities is to find things that belong to Mommy, Daddy, KK, or "zha doggies" and either bring them to you and insist you put them on or try them on for herself. Here are few pics of her in her Daddy's hat.

Weekend Adventures

Last Thursday we left for a long weekend to visit friends in Mexico Beach, FL. It was full of firsts for Isla. Her first boating trip, her first time scalloping and her first time seeing all kinds of aquatic life. Sharks, sting rays, & hermit crabs, oh my!

Our first afternoon, a bit overcast.

Waiting in the boat to leave for Crooked Island.

Crooked Island was great for swimming and exploring - shallow water and small waves.
